As the Chair of the Finance Committee for Johnston County Schools during the recession we lost $61 million from local, state, and federal funding. We trimmed the central office, addressed facility usage and cut 1.6 million from the utility bill. We shared $21 million with the County to reduce the debt service and improve the bond rating for future facility needs. During this time we protected the classroom and saved jobs.
